nobsil
Please Help...my admin area is open to hackers, how do I fix this :-( If you are using Apache web server, you can use .htaccess file to protect your admin directory. That's the quick fix. Maybe there are login features on the contributions section but I'm not sure about that. try this: http://www.modwest.com/help/kb1-32.html
supersprint
My admin directory is also unsecure. I don't understand what I need to do to the .htaccess file to make this all secure :( Help appreciated ;)
supersprint
ok so I have configured the .htaccess file and now the admin area asks for a username and password. Job done there. But the .htpasswd file is causing trouble. Where do I place this? Should be 1 level above my shops route in a secure location???
jgarite
I figured out my issue, in the admin configuration.php, just set the first line to https instead of http
ace21gabriel
To secure your admin go to modifications and just type admin security and get an admin user and pass its like 4 mins to set up.
supersprint
I found the answer to this in another thread on this forum. I just went to my 1and1 control panel and protected the catalog/admin directory :D
