ladykaren
Hi all; I was wondering if someone could lend a hand with this contrib. After my third try at installing it, it finally looks like everything is where it should be .... on/off lights, no errors and no conflict with other contribs .... this is a very good thing. But (you knew that was coming lol) when I disable at catagory, it is still showing in my catagories menu and the products are all still there. Could I have missed something during the install? Anyone else having this problem? Help?? Thanks in advance, Karen
lostndazed
Hi Karen, Congrats on your install. Which contribution are you using, and what version? You want your categories menu to disappear? Those are the links to your products/services, so I'm a bit confused on what you are trying to achieve.
ladykaren
Hi Lostndazed; Thank you for your reply. I installed Enable/Disable Catagories 1.6.1.1 I also applied the Fix - General 1 2 3 4. I've also applied the Specials Fix 1 2 3 4. Here's a link to my site http://www.ladykdelights.com and perhaps I can explain my question a little better. You'll see in my Catagories box the list I have for all the diferant products etc. I would like to "turn off" the Music catagory so that these products are not shown to the customer at this time. Also in the Skin Care section, I would like to "turn off" the Dead Sea Skin Care sub catagory for the same reason. I also have some seasonal items in the Bakery I would like to "turn off/on" for diferant holidays, again so the vistor does not see these items. Right now, I have the above catagories set to disable, however as you can see, they are still listed. I was under the impression that with this contrib it would basically work the same as the enable/disable feature for individual products. So .... that's where I am. I hope that explains a little clearer. I was tossing out questions in the forum left and right last night with a half functional brain lol. Thanks again and take care, Karen
MagickWomyn
Hi Karen, I'm using version 1.6.1.2. I am able to disable categories or sub-categories. I know this is a silly question, but have you refreshed your browser after disabling a category? If that doesn't work, double check the contrib code to be sure you didn't miss anything. You're right that the contrib does work the same as enable/disable a product. HTH
ladykaren
Hi Darlene; Thanks for your reply. And no, it's not a silly question lol. I have refreshed the browser after hitting the disable, but the catagories are still there along with the products. Let me look through the files in v.1.6.1.2 and compare what I've done already. That might do the trick. I'll let you know what happens. Take care, Karen :)
