rgvsean Posted January 27, 2007 Share Posted January 27, 2007 Hi, I hope this is the right forum/section, I currently run an earlier version of OSC not sure which, can't see a V number anywhere. Anyway my problem is this. I need to set up a new shop (same name products etc) on a different account so would like the latest version. Would it be better to copy my entire shop over to the new server and then upgrade it or install a new shop and try and get the data ie products, customers and modifications over onto the latest version? I hope I don't have to start again as I have over hundreds of customers and 300 products. How easy/hard is it to plug one database into a different shop installation? Jack_mcs Posted January 27, 2007 Share Posted January 27, 2007 Look in includes/application_top.php and search for version. If it says MS1, then the database is not compatible. If it says MS2, then your database should be compatible with the lastest updates, but there is a change to the database that is needed (as explained in that upgrade). If you haven't made many changes to the files, then it would be best to just upload a copy of the new version and start from there. Otherwise, you should install the changes into your existing shop.
