putting specs/illustrations in upcoming products?

hi

 

doing something a bit different. www.flirtdesigns.com is me. with the upcoming products, since i don't have them created yet or photos, i am including spec/illustration images to give the my customers a taster. (actually don't like the illustrations on there now, will do specs instead, but still)

 

however

 

my specs are showing in the random rotation of images for 'whats new' and 'featured' as they are 'in stock', which i don't want to have happen. if i don't click 'in stock' on my admin page, the upcoming product image and information doesn't show at all. (truth be told, i don't have them in stock, and would prefer them not to be listed that way...)

 

can anyone help with either:

a) coding for upcoming products to be excluded in the random picks (and where and how to include the suckers)

 

or

 

B) coding to make the information show on the upcoming product page, but not have to be 'in stock' (and again where and how to insert the suckers)

 

either way will be good for me. if you're a programmer helping me, i'll include you on my 'links' page under a new heading 'computer help' or something.

 

i'm a fashion designer, not a computer whiz
