Casinopa
My post title says it all -- I've got 9 products on my shop's main page, but they are not ordered the way I want them? How/where can I change that? Thanks!
lostndazed
Good question. I've never seen any mention of rearranging the order of the display. From my experience, the last item put in the database shows up at the top left, and the first item shows up at the bottom right. Maybe someone else has an idea on how to they could be rearranged. Should be: the 9th product from the most recent item put into the database shows up at the bottom right. We are constantly adding new items, so it works for us. If you only have 9 items to sell, you could probably try making the sort order DESC instead of ASC in the SQL code, or rearrange the order of the database entries by deleting and re-entering the items in the order you want them to show. Yeah, I might have to re-enter them... But, perhaps more importantly, I may need to categorize them: 3 products in each of 3 categories, with the three categories appearing on the main page instead of the individual products. You click a category (an image) and then you go to a screen that shows the products in that category. Is that do-able with the basic OS Commerce setup? Casinopa
Anyone -- is what I described possible? If so, how's it done? Elsewhere, someone told me how to do this. In Products/Categories, create a main "top" level category, then create your sub-categories (e.g. product group categories) under that. When a shopper clicks your top level category (e.g. Stuffed Animals) then they will see the sub-categories (e.g. Teddy Bears, Giraffes, Dogs, etc.) within it, displayed above the "New Products" box in the display area of your shop. Clicking a sub-category will show any sub-sub-categories in that sub-category, etc., along with any products that are in it.

Casinopa
http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,651Hey, that sounds handy. In addition to better organizing my products into categories, I've always been a bit bugged that that New Products box seemed rather inflexible. My newest products won't necessarily always be the ones I want to "feature" so I'll definitely check this out.
