Some customers can't create new account

Our oscommerce shop has been in operation since Dec2006. Everything works well.

The default currency is Canadian with US option.

We have both Canadian and US customers signed up in our customer listing.

We have shipped to both the US and Canada through the system.

 

Recently we had two customers (that we are aware of) from the US that had problems creating a new account.

They didn't get any errors, they just remained on the same login page. Nothing.

 

So as a test, we entered the customer info for one of them and it worked fineat our end.

The customer later tried to log in from their location and wasn't able to.

 

This is puzzling since we have had other customers during the same periodthat had no problems at all to sign up.

Is this a cookies issue? Browser issue on their part?

 

This is also worrisome since we may be losing potential customers in our new online business.

 

Can anyone shed some light on this? Has it happened to anyone before?

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
