greatfindsct Posted January 24, 2007 Share Posted January 24, 2007 Ok I am just a tad frustrated now :( I was finally able to configure my shopping cart today via the admin panel (after a 2 day struggle with ridiculous DNS problems). But now I want to tweak it, and have been doing things found in this forum. I use cpanel to do so and nothing is changing. For example to replace the oscommerce.gif with my own, I've uploaded my logo with the name oscommerce.gif, overwrote the existing file, but I still have the original, not mine. I've also tried taking out the counter at the bottom using the directions found here, and nothing is happening. I have NO clue what I'm doing wrong, but I'm about ready to scream!!!! jonquil Posted January 24, 2007 Share Posted January 24, 2007 Hi, Are you editing your files through Admin? There are issues with this in that edits don't "save." Download your entire site locally (to your hard drive) and make a back up of that for an emergency. Edit your files locally and upload the edited file to the correct directory using FTP. Back up your site on a regular basis and definitely before you make major changes. Glad to see you made it through the pain of propagation :) jon It's all just ones and zeros....
