Page caching by the browser

Hi,

I would like osC products and categories pages being cached by the customers' browser. I don't want the full page being reloaded each time a customer goes forward and then backward (with "back" button)!

With an example it's easier to explain (sorry for my English...)

Go to this Google page: http://www.google.com/search?q=oscommerce

(you can check with LiveHTTPHeaders that Google does use "Cache-Control: private")

Then scroll to the bottom and click on the Next link.

Then go back with the back button.

You will instantly (with Firefox 2.0 at least) get back to the bottom of the page, exactly where you leaved it, without any reload of any kind.

That's what I want for my osC pages.

I think this is achieved by making the server send a header wich enables browser caching features.

But no matter how much I try, I have been unable to get my OsC pages rendered with an enabled cache ("private").

I always get the "Cache-Control: no-cache"!

(It has nothing to do with the Admin Cache features (wich does cache categories boxes and others data very well))

Can anybody understand this problem?
