romantix
Hi  I know there are a lot of really smart people out here. And so here is a challenge for you ....I really need to change the way the ordering process goes. Instead of having so many steps I need to have most of the order that the customer fills in on one page. I really like the way this OSCommerce website does it: http://www.1-800-bakery.com/ I've asked this question here before and nobody seems to know how to do this (which I find hard to believe). Here is what I tried so far: I installed the 'Alternative Purchase System v2.0' Contribution ( http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,3359 )but it does not work (I'm getting Error messages). I'm really frustrated with this and I found out other people are too - I even found this article about it: Long Checkouts Suck --> http://wizardsandwars-oscommerce.blogspot.com/2005/07/long-checkouts-suck.html Thank you to anyone having any suggestions - you are the best! Jan ;) PS: This is what it looked like after I installed the Contribution mentioned above...too bad it didn't work http://www.romantika.net/screenshot.jpg

romantix
try http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...h,easy+checkout Thank you for the suggestion. This is really not what I'm looking for ... I have that Contribution installed already and it does not do what I need --> I also need the customers to enter the SHIP TO address every time because most of my products are gifts and the person ordering it is not the same person getting the gift. Anyway, I think www.1-800-bakery.com got it right and my hope is to find a solution that would make that same order process work on my site... romantix
what error messages are you getting from this contrib ? david This Contribution has several issues: 1. I was getting the following Error messages which I already fixed by removing the CC verification script from cc.php: Warning: str_repeat() [function.str-repeat]: Second argument has to be greater than or equal to 0. in /home/gourmet/public_html/shop/includes/modules/payment/cc.php on line 137 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/gourmet/public_html/shop/includes/modules/payment/cc.php:137) in /home/gourmet/public_html/shop/includes/functions/general.php on line 33 2. NOW - THE PROBLEM IS THAT IT ASKS FOR THE BILLING AND THE SHIP TO ADDRESS (which is something that I want and need) but when I fill both of those out - it just takes the input from one and shows it on both --> what I mean is - I fill out different info for the BILLING and for the SHIP TO address and it shows the same info in both the BILLING and SHIP TO in the Confirmation screen. 3. Another problem is that after you place the order- it shows an empty screen and says: There are no items in your shopping cart! 4. Some of the fields are out of order/missing. Like - there is the country field but no states field. I don't need a country field as we will ship in the US only but a states field might come in handy.
