matbennett
One of our site was taken down at the weekend by rampant spider activity from Pricerunner. Over saturday night / sunday their spider managed to consume a whopping 12.5 GB of bandwidth - enough to tip us over the limit for this site, knocking it out and losing 12 hours of sales. Totally irresponsible programming in my eyes, especially as they don't seem to be naming their bot with an indentifiable user agent. I'm trying to get a dialogue open with pricerunner, but so far they seem to think this inadvertant denial of service is perfectly acceptable. Has anyone else had any issues Pricerunner's spiders? Incidentally, if anyone else is worried about this the best approach seems to be to deny IPs 213.136.33.192 - 213.136.33.
