djbdjb
Like a lot of the other people posting links here this is my first osCommerce site, in fact my first eCommerce site without a techie sitting next to me (I'm originally a traditional graphic designer). It's a freebie for a mate (well, I'm getting paid in wine!), so I haven't spent a huge amount of time over it - just a few rainy weekends. Things I know are missing at the moment are: Content - Mate needs a kick up the backside. SSL - Not set this up before but waiting until the content is there. CC Processing - Again waiting until the content is there. So I would appreciate positive/negative criticism on essentially the layout and in case I've missed anything glaringly obvious to the more experienced. Thanks in advance. Yamba Wines PS: It's not live in any way at the moment so registering/purchasing etc. isn't a problem.

It is very clean and simple, but I think that is fine for the product. I wouldn't have so much going on in the top left corner. Move the bread crumb trail elsewhere. When clicking on "add to cart" you should be directed to the cart contents. It is very confusing otherwise and I ended up adding something 4 times before I realized it wasn't a slow connection. I belive that is an option in admin. I would get rid of the categorie counters - I might even update the categorie box with "great categories" or similar contribution. I normally would say to set up purchase without account, but maybe for this product you don't need it. Nice work overall. Now, do you need my address, how are you going to get the free wine to me? :P
radders
Yeah, nice looking site. I assume you are going to sort out the redundant home/on-line shop link in the top right hand corner. I could certainly have done with a friend like you when I was getting started!
