I've been researching a way to create an online toy collection tracking/management website for a few weeks now, and I'm pretty much drawing a blank. I'm leaning towards using php with an MySQL database, but I'm not 100% sure where to start.

I want to create and populate the database myself, so I can update it frequently and keep it fresh. I want to allow users to create an account and keep track of the items they have in their collections. This is all going to be free of charge for the users of my site, as I'm already involved with a Star Wars toy site, with free forums and such.

A few samples of what I'm looking towards the final product looking like would be:

ToyTracker

Anyone that has any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.
