I am getting this message: Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /customers/domain.dk/domain.dk/httpd.www/catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file.

I looked in the pdf file you can downlaod and they write that u have to reset the permissions to 644 or to 444??? I don't understand this part.....where do u see the permissions in the configure.php file, where should i change it???

And again it says change the permissions on /caltalog/images directory to 777??? where do u change those numbers i can't find it....what permission file r they talking about?

and than u have to create the dir/catalog/admin/backups with permissions 777....how do u do that and the same with grahs directory to 777????

The last weird thing is that i can by typing in my url go to the admin site without it asking me for login and password? In the pdf file they write that u need to have .htaccess in ur admin directory so that it is password protected...i have the .htacess file but still it not redirect me to a login page....wy??? can anybody help me please!!!!!!!!

Sorry my english is not so good but I hope u understand my questions.

1. Connect to your server with an FTP program, for example, WS_FTP.

2. Navigate to the correct folder and right click on the file or folder you need and choose "Properties". You will get a permissions dialog box.

3. Key in the numeric value (3-digit permissions).

If this doesn't work for you, contact your hosting service and ask them to help you.

Hi

I was using another FTP-server program so I downloaded WS_FTP try edition. In this u can give permissions digits and I did. but in the configure.php file i can only give permission 644. If I write 444 it rewrite it to 644? but still with 644 i get the warning message? :(

and what about the admin problem do u have a solution for that sir?

I am unable to help you with your admin (.htaccess) issue. And I don't know if this is related to the 644 you set on configure.php (did you also chmod the admin/includes/configure.php?).

This thread is an interesting read. http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=40084

It discusses chmod and sometimes what you think it correct is actually not. You'll understand when you read through it. Wish I could be more help.
