Vertical product listing

My store has a horizontal product listing when a category is selected. I want it to have a vertical listing. Rather than have 1 product listed in single row with four columns, I would like to have 1 product listed in a single column of four and each column containing 3 rows. I bet that makes no sense at all.

Visual:

__horizontal__ : what I have (1 row 4 column) for each product

EDIT: I can't get the boxes to line up, but they're supposed to represent tables.

I hope the diagram helps.

I've looked for contributions and found some that seemed very promising and where supposed to do what I was looking for, but either instructions where missing, where old and outdated or the download was empty.

I have STS (Simple Template System) installed, so if there's an easy way I would like to know.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thankyou.
