spark Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I am in the beginning stages of putting up my commerce site. Bought my oscommerce template from template monster. Am able to edit PHP and HTML, etc. I want to put the site up (perhaps password-protected?) but not have it accessible by spiders or accidental would-be customers. I don't want to test on my PC as I have no SQL or Apache server. My hosting service does. Thanks.
natewlew Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 The only sure way is to pass protect it. I you want to be the only person looking at it, that is what you should do. Otherwise you could put a robots.txt in the directory where you store is. Just search Google for blocking bots with robots.txt.
