mellie
Hi everyone, I have a need to provide free shipping to certain customers that will have products hand delivered. I have looked through the contributions for coupon codes and free shipping modules as well, but none of them seem to address my particular issue. I thought if we could provide a coupon code to these customers they would be able to enter it and have the shipping total zeroed out. Since it is for specific customers only, I don't want a "free shipping" option per quantity of items, or by weight, or even by zone. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I do not have any coupon or free shipping contributions on my site at this point. Thanks much in advance! Mellie
Guest
Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions about this topic or if there is already a contribution I've missed. I'm looking for a solution to this problem too and have been searching for awhile. I have a campaign I need to launch where it will offer select customers free shipping if they enter a specific code (the code is generic, it will be the same for all customers receiving this offer). Thanks in advance!
Guest
Haven't seen one for exactly what you need. There are some that come a bit close but you need another customers related table to store customers who may use the particular shipping module and change one of the existent shipping modules to parse that table and enable it during checkout accordingly. You could modify one of the customer groups related contributions for this.
jasonabc
Maybe look at the Customer Pickup module. Just change it to "Hand Delivery". Customers can select this option at checkout and are charged zero shipping. Guest
Yes, that won't work. What I'm looking for is to be able to mail out postcards to certain customers and the postcards will have a code that they can enter when placing an order. Once they've entered that code, it would entitle them to free shipping no matter how much they ordered. Simply having an option that completely eliminates shipping just by selecting it won't work. Anyone else have any ideas? Thanks
jasonabc
Ok - then use CCGV. This has a free shipping checkbox in the form you use to create the Discount Code. Create the code, check the Free Shipping box and then mail that code to whoever you like. When they enter it at checkout - they get free shipping.
