Permissions problem getting 403

I've installed oscommerce locally and am using easyphp. In theory I'd like to be able to customise my site locally in dreamweaver.

I can view my site no problems. I have managed to successfully alter the permissions of the configure file so I don't get the inital warning.

I have index.php opened in dreamweaver, when I try to view the live data view i'm getting Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /oscommerce/catalog/includes/languages/english/index.php on this server.

I've noticed the www folder of easy php is set as read only. I've tried again and again to uncheck read only for that directory and the subdirectorys. But it keeps going back to read only. I also can't get the read only box to remain unchecked in windows explorer for the english folder in catalog.

Is my problem likely to be the easyphp folder or oscommerce permissions and what can I do or what have I done wrong??

It's a permission problem with dreamweaver and your local host Dreamweave does not authenticate properly on amany levels, it is a recognized bug - just view it in your browser - are you using IIS? I can never get my live data to work properly in dreamweaver

Well as long as it's a recognized bug and not something I've done wrong.

I'm using easy PHP because I followed some instructions in Spanish on setting everything up locally. The instructions were very idiot proof so I decided not to try figuring out how to use IIS.

good - IIS is hard to manage effectively. I took me three versions of windows to get it right
