bubs Posted January 15, 2007 Share Posted January 15, 2007 I'm moving my cart to a new server. and I install OScart onto the new server then drop my old setup in to replace the newly installed default cart. well it looks the same and the text is right but when the boxes and pictures are all populated with the default setup. So it looks like my cart but its trying to sell something about mary and it has a broken picture because I removed all the unused folders. How would I go about getting MY categories to show up, and MY reviews to be posted again? I even deleted the whole file then dropped mine in after everything was deleted. and I can view he cart on the old server still and it looks fine. whats the deal? how can this be fixed Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
natewlew Posted January 16, 2007 Share Posted January 16, 2007 There are three steps to moving Oscommerce. 1. Export your database and move all of your files to the new server. 2. Import your old database into a new empty database on the new server. 3. Edit the includes/configure.php and the admin/includes/configure.php to reflect the new database and the new paths. Your done! I recently had to shift my Hosting provider and now i am perplexed as i dont knwo how to shift my shop to the new server. i mean moving the OC Shopping cart from one server to another server. As both are in Linux and MySql i feel it should not be a problem but unfortunately the only difference is that i am changing the domain name and the hosting server. and my database name is also changed. How and where do i change exactly this configure files ...i am not a techie so please give in detail the code..... Can you please do tell me how i can change this without disturbing anything in my store.
