Paypal Module Loses Order

Recommended Posts

I have setup our site using the standard Paypal module included with ms 2.2. The process works fine and the user is transferred to Paypal and the transaction is completed, but upon completion of the transaction, when the user clicks "return to site" it takes them back to the site's login screen and loses the session (testing myself). When they login it shows the order as still being in their cart and no orders are shown in the admin screen, so they are paying but the order is not moved from the cart to the order. Has anyone else had this problem? It is obviously a major problem with the module if the customer pays and an order is never created. I have tried the same process without the paypal step (paying with, for instance, a check) and the user is able to checkout and an order created without problem.

Thanks for your help!

Ok I guess the module that comes standard doesn't work, then? I'll install and try.

It works but it is outdated. Paypal came out with their IPN system after the module was released. They saw that the problem existed so they fixed it. The new module is the fix on this end.
