My web site was set up for me but that person has disappeared.

The site is working fine except that all nem images are stretched and I

do not know how to stop this.

I am willing to pay someone to sort this out for me.

Look in Admin>Configuration>Images>Small Image Width & Height

 

You can chagne the values there..

Unfortunately I did not write the program and do not understand how to change anything.

 

I would gladly pay anyone who could sort this out for me.

I don't know anything about code either. This is not in the code but on your administration panel (where you add products etc). Go into your admin and click on the word Catalog. You will see a table on the left hand side. Click on configuration. It will drop down a menu. Click on Images. The page will have small image width etc and value. You can change them here to whatever pixel size you want.
