i am a member in a site that has been hacked , is there any risk that the hacker may attack my PC , since i have login to the site while it was hacked .

the only information that i gave is username , password, my email address, and as i investigate that the moderator can know my ip address , so could any one tell my what are the risk that i may face and how i can prevent it...

It depends on what the hacker was gathering, what information he was able to obtain and if your computer is protected by a firewall. My guess is that he won't be able to get into your computer. But you should change all of your pasword on the site.

It depenes on what code he has inserted and how your site is setup. If he has gotten into your admin section and you use .htaccess for protection, then he won't be able to get that if you change it. If he has gotten into your control panell and added an ftp account, then he can get to your site from there. The hackers many times just deface a site, like changing the apperance of the index page. If they actually add code, it is usually to grab your customers information, and that doesn't require a password since it is done on the shop side. So you need to determine what it was that they did before you can know for sure what is needed.

thank you again , but just to make sure that you understand the problem the site that has been attacked is not mine but i only have registred into that site as a user , but i heard that that site is currently under hacking , so i am asking if i am as a user in this site , where i provide them the following info to be able to register with them ; a username and password to login to that site and also i have gave them my email address and the cuntry i live and as i know that the site moderator could see the users IP address , so what are the risks that might affect me as a user not as a site owner or site moderator.

Thanks alot

Basically, there are all types of hacks. The worst case scenario is that the hacker got all of the information that you provided when you signed up for the site. It is unlikely that your computer is at risk, but if you use the same username and password for other sites and accounts, they may be able to access those.
