Maybe it was just me but it took a while to load your home page I was able to view one dvds details tried to switch categories and it just said waiting for server after 20 sec I gave up.. im on an 8mb cable modem

I'm having the same experience. You can use this site to help figure out what is going on: http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/

You need a thumbnail contribution, that would help.

Also, the "live support" feature is great if you are available normal business hours I would move it "above the fold" on all your pages. Top left corner is a good place for that.

Your site is clean and looks pretty good, but it needs to be very fast to keep people shopping.

Yeah that seems to be my problem. I am just starting to get content on the site. However, in my case more content means more visitors. This is not a bad thing, but when I start getting 10, 15, 20 visitors on my site at once it just boggs it way down.

I am going to install a thumbnail contribution and just really interested in some other ideas. I tried the website optimization website and it basically read warning on almost every single category listed. Ouch!

Yea, its a pretty meaty site. The first thing i would do is get the size of the images down. Then optimize the code and css file to get some size out of it. I would also cut back some of the images on the home page. The bestsellers list i feel is 1 part of your site that is making it slow to load. This may go away once you make the image file size smaller.

Thank you for the comments. I really appreciate them alot. I know people are real busy and its nice to take the time to review something for someone else.

Since the last time, I have installed the image thumbs but the site still seems slow and sometimes unresponsive. Now I dont know if this is because I have some categories with over 2,000 products and over 16,000 active products or a overloaded shared server.

What do you guys think it could be and what should I be doing at this point of time to move forward?

Make sure you get rid of all of the stock OsC images.

Layout wise, in my opinion, you could use to lower your right and left colums and then spread your header out to fill the space. Perhaps even narrowing your site some. Look at this site as an example of what I mean. http://www.tlavideo.com/

Now your site feels like it is "shrugging"

They also use a nice slide show effect to display their movies. I was able to get this effect for my site by adapting the code from this site: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex14...inslideshow.htm

They have some great scripts that can be used with OsC.

I think you are close to something. Keep at it! Use your competition as a guide. (but don't copy them outright!)

I'd drop the animated bestsellers list - it's taking ages to load and is pretty useless from a Usability point of view. Much better to keep it simple.

Did you intend for the 'header' to sit between the two side columns? Not too sure about this, I think it would be better to keep it standard - and even put your search box and cart up there too.
