Getting square with cross instead of image

When I replace a graphic (e.g. oscommerce.gif with somethingelse.gif), I am getting a square with redcross and image name, but the image does not actually appear. Do I need to define my graphic anywhere? Do I need to change size - if so, where can I change size details? Any help would be appreciated.

The image must be uploaded to your (catalog)/images folder, and it probably isn't, hence the error. If it's uploaded to that folder, then something in your (catalog)/includes/configure.php images tag is wrong:

define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/');

Good luck.

Assuming you uploaded the image files to the proper directory, with the proper permissions set --- ensure you are not replacing a static image name. For example, oscommerce.gif is defined as an image source file in a few php files. If you deleted it, and uploaded myimage.gif - it would break the link.

One easy way around this, is to determine the name of the image file you want to replace (say box_write_review.gif) and simply edit the graphic, name it the same, and overwrite the existing one...
