Old orders adding to cart

I have a customer who has been trying to place an order for some CDs at my site. Each time he does (there have been three attempts so far) he finds that his previous orders also add in to his new one. I have been through the database and deleted any old shopping carts with his ID on (after the second attempt) but they are still coming back on his third. Could there be some way in which his computer is storing the information rather than it being on my system? If anyone has had similar problems can they let me know how it can be fixed.

 

In the short term I have suggested he create a new login ID and hopefully that will allow him to buy what he wants.
