Guest Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Hi everyone, I am new to the oscommerce community and I must say its absolutely fantastic. I have installed a catalog at parkstones.co.uk/catalog for my partner to run her shop from and the template came with some very strange color matches. So far I have managed to change the majority of them although some need changing due to mistakes on the stylesheet.css. One major problem that I have are the orange boxes that remain, I cant change the colors. The 'Browse by Categories' box was a graphic and is the same as the 'Browse by brand' box, I found the link for that quite easily but unfortunately I cannot find any references to the orange boxes throughout the shop. Can anyone suggest as to how I can change the colors of the orange boxes. As far as I know these is no reference in the stylesheet.css. Many thanks, Tony Relph. BTW: Does the site layout appear ok to everyone else? I only ask as I use Mac and I did have some teething problems with the layout. Thanks.

That color is created by a repeating background image on your site http://parkstones.co.uk/catalog/images/m27.gif One easy option would be to edit that image to the desired color, and re-upload.

Hi, Thanks for your reply, I saw that image but it only appears as a 1 pixel wide line, is it repeated throughout the length of the box? BTW would you know how to make items appear in the right column? Does the link display in the source? I only ask because I dont know what to do, I was going to reinstall because I have no idea what to do, there doesnt seem to be a category in the admin for it. I accidently deleted a category as I wanted to load some new ones and all of a sudden the products disappeared, unfortunately I did the the backup just after with out realising. I have no idea what all that code means, I am still learning (slowly...but learning) Any help with this would be great from you experts. SUPERNOC, If that is the answer then thank you VERY much, it has been driving me CRAZY!! Kind regards, Tony. PS: does the site layout appear ok on your machine?
supernoc Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 I saw that image but it only appears as a 1 pixel wide line, is it repeated throughout the length of the box? Yes, its a repeated background image. Using a 1px line is more efficient as the background will appear more fluid at different screen resolutions, rather then using say a 500px image, that will squish at different resolutions. That is definately where that orange color comes from (for your site) I did respond to your right colum post, so check out that answer in that post.. Site layout looks fine (minus the right column missing)
