Brad Krattiger
I am trying to sell website templates. When the website page image is reduced, it is not usable. I start with 800x450 pixels. I will then print screen and create a .jpg image. The reduced size on the oscommerce site is too distorted. So I am looking for some help thank you brad

jpweber
Are you using Adobe Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, or something, and keeping the proportions while trying to reduce the file size???? If you do that, there should be no problem using the print screen command, creating a new image, then reducing the image size. Make sure "Constrain Proportions" or something like that (depending on your program) is ticked, and just change one figure, like the width ... say you want a width of 250 px, or 300 px, and the height will be automatically adjusted for you. Nothing should be out of proportion. b101aa2
Change the images to no larger than 200X200. Also, in admin, set width of images to 100 or what you want and don't set height at all. Leave it blank. It will set height to null and will all be guided from width. Large images have no way of retainign quality when being resized in osCommerce. I've looked for a contribution, but haven't found one.
Brad Krattiger
did you got to your admin page---configuration---images and change the sizes there. I will look at that again. Changing those defaults will affect the What's New" box. But I will try a few things or remove that box. Thank you very much for your help brad

b101aa2
If you need to change individual images like the What's New image. You can also go into the code and change it to something else like SMALL_IMAGE instead of HEADING_IMAGE. It would then associate it to a different value, like the same that appears on the product page instead of
