Help I forgot my store admin password!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Apologies if this has been answered, but I have spent the last hour trying to find an answer and have had no luck. I have forgotten my password to get into the admin section for my store. There is no forgotten password link or anything similar as there is for users. I am desperate as I am trying to get back into finishing this site for a client. We had a break over Christmas, and for some reason it won't accept the password I had, or for some strange reason, I am making a mistake. I have tried all passwords that I would usually use. Yes, I probably should have noted it down, but it used to connect automatically because I ticked the Save box on the form, but it seems to have not done that now. So basically, how do I reset or find out what my admin password is?

Appreciate any help I can get.

Ciao

Ana

Ana, it's okay. Go to your host's control panel, and find the "password protect directories" icon. Click it, find the admin folder, and reset your password for that folder.

Good luck.

Or just check the .htaccess in your admin folder rename and You are in.

But to password protect You will have to either generate a newset of user and password that can be associated with htaccess and htpasswd file.
