Although they might help, the two do not have direct link. This forum has tons of info/advice on how to increase your chance of being listed by the search engines. Odds are it is there, just really low in the listings. Go to a seach engine and type in site:www.yourdomain.com. If it doesn't find any entries, then you are correct, you are not listed. In that case, you can submit your site manually to the search engine. If it does find results, tehn you are just not placing well, which is to be expected. You will have to perform search engine optimization on your site. That includes installing contributions like Header Tags and Ultimate SEO.
