globalx
Hey everyone, I am new to the whole webpage thing and I asked people which contributions to download. A lot of people suggested the Header Tags contribution and the Ultimate SEO contribution. I just installed them but I notice no difference on my webpage...What do these contributions do? Have I not installed them correctly? Could someone please clarify this for me. Thank you
bill110
These run in the "background". Header tags are for search engines to get info about your site, the current page etc. If you open your site in a browser and right click then select view source you should see somewhere near the top Meta tags for title, description, keywords etc. (If installed correctly and you added them) The ultimate SEO it to create links that are "search engine friendly". When google or yahoo etc look over your site they index the pages so they show up in searches. Ultimate SEO makes the links look more normal among other things. Hope this helps. Thanks, but I am confused about one thing. I installed the sitemap contribution and submitted it to google, as well as the 2 contribs mentioned earlier. But no matter how hard I try I can't seem to find the site on google...or about 500 sites appear in front of it. Is there a way to get mine closer to the top? bill110
One thing is that Google takes a WHILE. Also the more sites you can share links with the better your ranking. This free program will help you find where things may be lacking on your site. Has FTP, keyword checker, site submission (better to do it yourself though), and lots more. http://www.webceo.com/ My Contributions Stylesheet With Descriptions Glassy Grey Boxtops Our Products Meta Tags On The Fly Password Protect Admin "No matter where you go....There you are" - Buccaroo Bonsai
