sale tax

I recently installed this site and I can not make the sales tax to work. When i want to check out, I am showing the following :

Sub-Total: $338.00

Zone Rates (Shipping to US : 3 lb(s)): $28.50

ca Sales tax + sales tax + sales tax + CA SALES TAX + + + CA sales tax: $138

 

How do I remove these multiple taxes.

 

so for a $338.00 product , OScommerce adds $138.00 sales tax.

 

I deleted all the tax zones and tax classes and it still does the same thing.

 

I tried doing the following too:

1: I added a tax class called CA sales tax

2- I added a tax zone names CA

3- I added a tax rate as follows:

 

tax class: Ca slaes tax

Zone: CA

tax rate : 7.75%

 

and still no luck. as I mentioned, I even tried removing everything and I can not still make this to work properly.

 

Please help.
