Problem importing quotation marks....

ComicWisdom

Recommended Posts

I am using one of the import contribs for importing my data. All the quotation marks in my data are disappearing during upload. They are mostly used for measurements.

2 inches x 6 inches x 4 inches = 2" x 6" x 4"

Is there a way that I can preserve these?

Thank you.

Just between us, remember there are only 10 kinds of people in the world; those who understand binary and those who don't!!

Remember, learning is a "do-it-yourself" experience; although, not necessarily a "do-it-BY-yourself" experience.

The quickest way to learn is to forget to BACKUP!

you shouldnt need to put in the head and body statements in the langauges file

just the text with any line breaks, basic formatting etc

also - are you looking after your apostrophes - like this -

Magic Forest\'s skin-loving, fluffy lather, you\'ll

I find it safer to just use "AmpersandPound39;" the html code for an apostrophe, like this:

--edit: stupid code boxes don't keep this written as characters.

This has the added bonus of making words like "you'll" stay together, instead of breaking at the end of a line.

word. damn single quotes! you can also use double quotes to enclose a string that has a single quote. by the way, a single quote is different from an apostrophe

Just put " in place of your quotes. eg:

2" x 6" x 4"
