I have a website but its not added to any search engines at the moment. How would I go about adding it to the engines. I want to add it to google and any others that you can suggest. Ausgirl
You just need to go to the search engines you want to submit to and look for a link that states "Submit site" or "Submit URL" and away you go. Or just type in the search in something like "Submit URL to google or whatever" and the page will show up, then you can Submit away. Easy.

Thank You Odds are, you are don't need to submit. Most sites are found before the shop owner decides to list them. That may not be the case for you but you can see by going to any of them and searching onsite:yourdomain.comIf you are listed, it won't hurt to submit, but it won't help either. Jack_mcs
Oscommerce doesn't contain the necessary code to properly setup a site for the search engines. There are about ten contributions that should be added for best results but to start, you need to install a mata tags contribution like Header Tags and a url rewriter like Ultimate SEO. With those installed, your products (and your home page if you optimize it) will begin to get ranked well much sooner than if you don't use them. In fact, if you don't use them, odds are you will never rank well. jpweber
Personally, I think Jack's Links Manager v 1.14 is a way to get quality backlinks, if you use it properly. Don't go out link farming, but pick and choose wisely, and I think this contribution can be greatly beneficial in addition to the ones already mentioned.
