Storing additional website-wide settings

In order to develop a sales forecasting contribution, we need to store a few additional persistent settings in the osCommerce application. For example, we would need to store username/password information required to access remote web services.

What are the usual guidelines for an osCommerce contribution that require to store half a dozen of additional settings?

Thanks in advance,

Joannès

They would typically be stored in the database. But if you do that, be sure to enable ssl for the page that uses them since passwords are not something you want others to get.
