Guest
As I'm contemplating this myself (unfortunately) I figured I'd start a thread on it and find out if I'm missing anything - or have overlooked anything. For a re-install, I'll need to... - backup the database. - backup the existing osCommerce files (just in case) - delete current site files from server. - re-upload a new fresh install. - set the correct permissions. - run the install procedure. *this is where I'm stuck* What options will I need to set - to be able to have it set its self up - but just work with the database already in place (saving me the procedure of re-uploading and adding thousands of products) I don't want to have to add all the products again. Is this possible? Once that bit's done - I just upload the images and css to customise the look again (and add the contributions again I suppose) - Is is possible to just re-upload a backup copy of the entire site, without having to re-install? My problem (I think) is with file permissions. Incidentally a basic solution to my problem might be if there is a list of all the files in osCommerce, and their correct permission values (CHMOD).
