I have tried the search function but havnt found a post that answers my questions. I currently have an OSC site installed without SSL but will be moving it to a server and it will have its own SSL cert from Verisign. How do I make it so the information exchanged is encrypted? Is it a simple configuration.php file change? Will the whole site be https or just when it comes time to send name, address, credit card etc... ? Thanks! I have osCommerce 2.2 on an Intel Macintosh (10.4.8) and am almost ready to go live all I need to do is set up SSL and then configure the banking to start working. Jack_mcs Posted January 5, 2007 Share Posted January 5, 2007 First, the ssl certifcate has to be installed on the server correctly. If it is, then you can go to https://yoursite.com and the page will display. If that doesn't work, then you need to talk to your host about getting it installed correctly. Once that is done, edit your includes/configure.php file. There are three lines near the top that deal with ssl. In one you change the false to true. In the other two, you put the url for the ssl. That's all that's needed. The code in oscommerce will handle the switching from there.
