Guest
I'm having a difficult time deciding how to do shipping. I'm running a small business and won't have much stock. Most items will be ordered when a customer makes an order, or will be shipped directly to the customer from the supplier. Since I don't have much stock I won't know the dimensions or the weight of many products. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I should calculate the shipping costs? DarrenDunnage
Not sure where you are, but i am in the UK. I have a deal with a national courier company, basically any package upto 25kgs is £6.50, for each package after that is £3.95, i just charge flat £6.50 p&p as if it does go into two or more boxes there is margin in the product to more than cover any addtional postage, 9 out of 10 orders are single packages, and there are also instances where we can post something cheaper than £6.50 so we make a bit, swings a roundabouts really. I would like to put Royal mail post rates in so we pick up more smaller orders as i think this does turn people off ordering one or two items or lower value!!
