as this can be stoped BUT it may just be a lot of customers which is good but if someone has linked to you site this is not good.

if you have cPlanel then look for HotLink Protection.

hi does nay one know how to stop people from right clicking and saving pictures?

any help would be great!

Using that method will aggravate and/or lose you customers and it doesn't help much with someone getting the images. The better approach os to install an auto thumbnail with watermark contribution. That will make the image pretty much useless for the majority of people. But, if you still want to stop the right click, it is done using javascript. Just search the web for javascript and no right click. You should find many examples.

I only had one image being hotlinked to another site so I thought I would get real rude about it.

I renamed the original image to image_v2.jpg and updated it in the product via admin panel. I then created a 400x400 px. bright red image with a skull and cross bones in the middle with some text 'THIS WEBSITE IS STEALING IMAGES AND BANDWIDTH FROM OTHER WEBSITES, IF THEY WILL STEAL FROM US, WILL THEY ALSO STEAL FROM YOU?' and uploaded it to my images folder.

When I checked the website that was hotlinking my image it almost covered the entire index page and the other pages it was coded into making the pages almost impossable to navagate.

I stayed this way for almost 3 weeks before the site owner caught it and removed the hotlink. Since this was a site selling 'Professional Website Design and Management' I can only wonder if they lost any business during that period.

I know it was a rotten thing to do, I could have first sent them a warning email it just happend to catch me on a bad day and really >_< me off.

Installed Contributions: CCGV, Close Popup, Dynamic Meta Tags, Easy Populate, Froogle Data Feeder, Google Position, Infobox Header Entire Row, Live Support for OSC, PayPal Seal with CC images, Report_m Sales, Shop by Price Revised, SQL Updater, Who's Online Enhancement, Footer, GNA EP Assistant and still going.
