Hello

I want to my database in different hosting company's server than catalog.

If I put database info before installation. it will stuck.

If I change database info after install, catalog/include/configure.php and catalog/admin/include/configure.php. it stucked too.

Forget it, it's not going to work unless the server on which you have the database has you set up as a Remote User - which gives you permission to access the database from another server. Your host will only do this if your website has its own dedicated ip address - otherwise they would potentially be giving all other sites on your website's server access to your database.

Thank you for help me again.

I see you mean dedicated ip address for webiste where catalog is. then ask database ISP to give me remote access from catalog webiste.

I have a virtual private server and have been able to access the database on that server from a site hosted on another server (my site) by putting the database server's IP address instead of "localhost" in the configure.php files of the catalog that is not on the same server as the database. The IP for the database server is an exclusive IP (not a shared one).

my catalog website has dedicated IP. Database remote access host is set. It cannot install osc by using database server's IP.

I uploaded catalog to the database server. I only can install osc by using localhost not an IP.

I requested dedicated IP for my database account. I will try again. if not good. I go for virtual dedicated server.

Complain to your hosting company - it shouldn't be allowed.
