Guest
I'm sorry to bother you guys with this. I'm new to this... I want to install the contribution named 'Payment without accont.' I've downloaded the the contribution and I've unzipped it. After the extraction, the root directory of the files is named 'PWA.' Under PWA there are several sql scripts. Then there is a series of PHP files. Do I just need to manually copy these php files to the same directory hiearchy of my oscommerce installation, run the SQL script, and that's it? I just don't want to screw anything up. Please help, guys! Thanx and sorry for the stupid questions...
♥Vger
The PWA contribution has been around for a while now, so I doubt that the files are up to date with the latest bug fixes and security patches for osCommerce - but you can check that out for yourself in the Contributions section. Most contributions follow the directory structure of osCommerce, so provided that the files are up to date, and you have no other contributions added which will be affected, then you should be able to add new files and overwrite any other files without causing problems. You will need to know how to run the sql files into the database via phpMyAdmin (this is not an optional extra). Backup your database and your website files/folders first and then if anything goes wrong you can restore from the unedited file set and backup database. Guest
Well, now I guess I have another question... If I download the latest oscommerce version and install it, that will overwrite all/any specializations or changes to any php files that I might have changed, right? ♥Vger
Yes, but it also comes with both text and html files that show you how to apply the upgrades manually. Vger
