zaagmans
This question must have been asked a million times, but i'm a newbie..... I have OScommerce installed locally and everything works fine, but if I enter http://localhost/catalog/admin in IE, I get into the admin mode directly. What happens if I put the site on the internet? Is everyone able to change all settings? If so let me know how to change this. In other words, he can I get a admin login screen? Thanks Stephan
ro88o
After install you'll notice point 3 says 'Securing The Administration Tool - It is important to secure the Administration Tool as there is currently no security implementation available.' so yes if you put your site onto the internet currently people would be able to access the admin pages. There are many ways to secure it - the most simple being .htaccess/.htpasswd, a quick google search should tell you how to password restrict access to a certain folder on your webserver (ie the admin folder). Hope that helps.
