Guest
I've built my store and I ready to go live. When I view the store I have error messages and comments stating that this is a demo and not a real store. How do I correct this and go live? usernamenone
did you download a free demo from a designer? And not from OsCommerce?
spax
It doesn't really sound like you are quite ready yet. This is a default setup of the osCommerce project, products shown are for demonstrational purposes, any products purchased will not be delivered nor will the customer be billed. Any information seen on these products is to be treated as fictional. Is that what it says?
Guest
I'd highly suggest getting the site ready before going live. :P Like spax said, does it say that? Or what does it say exactly?
Guest
I am having the identical problem. It says those words exactly and tells me how to modify the page. When I try to modify I get error messages and it tells me I don't have authorization to make changes. osCommerce came with a package purchased at StartLogic, so I did not have to install it. StartLogic tells me to simply read the osCommerce manual to solve the problem. I have read everything available and can't solve it.
usernamenone
Looks like your site is read only and you need to set file permissions correctly. You need to set your configure.php files both in catalog/includes and admin/includes/ to read only. The rest can be read and write. Here is some reading for you http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_system_permissions
