edschaum Posted September 27, 2002 Posted September 27, 2002 Hi, I've read the discussions about taxes, and it appears that I can't make any smaller divisions than the State. In New York, we have SEVEN different sales tax rates in about 75 separate zones. It's a complicated jumble of "if you're in this county, but not in this town, then your rate is ..". The rates range from 6 3/4% to 8 1/4% Has anyone figured out how to apply more than one sales tax rate within a US State? Here's a link to the NYS Sales Tax table in case anyone wants to see it: http://www.tax.state.ny.us/pdf/publication.../pub718_902.pdf Ed
Paul_C Posted September 27, 2002 Posted September 27, 2002 :whatthat: Wow, that's something awful  . Please tell me none of that applies to Californian companies trying to do business with residents there (like the VAT tax does in the EU... argh.) If not, then my best advice for you is to base your company out of another state  "It's a damn poor mind that can only think of one way to spell a word." -- Andrew Jackson
