Bill Langlais
I am new to OsCommerce and web development and I am using it on 1&1 hosting service. I did the install which uses oscommerce.sunsite.dk/downloads/oscommerce-2.2ms2-051113.tgz. I am customizing OsCommerce and I am having problems with the user registration on the main page. When I select the create and account link I get "The page cannot be diaplayed" the URL is https://skitrak.org/oscommerce/create_account.php which looks like it is correct. Also if I hit the "log yoursel in" link the browser window clears and nothing displays. One thing I noticed is if I go to the admin function Customer Details I only get the following options, not all the ones documented in the help: Gender Date of Birth Company Suburb State Also I get circled i to the left of the options not wrenches, do not know if this might be related. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Bill Langlais
Did you purchase a SSL Cert. for your website? If you didn't that is why it won't work. To use the https you have to have a SSL Cert. for your website. I checked with 1&1 and they offer a shared ssl certificate and a dedicated one. What the disadvantage of using a shared one instead of a dedicated one? I am planning to use PayPal to hanndle all my order processing. Just to give you a little more information I am using OsCommerce to sell a software package I have written. So I will only have two products for now. The package and a eval version of the package that I will put on the site for free, allthough I want to capture who is downloading it. I am using OsCommerce mainly for the downloading capability.
