Downloadable products Help

Recommended Posts

No matter how hard I try I cannot get this to work at all. I want to sell midi files I made. I set everything up right. CHMOD pub to 777, download to 755. Configure.php is fine. I allow my website to use downloads by setting downloads to true. I set the products attributes using the one sentence of guidance given in the help website to set my test product up as a download. I put my file in the download folder. I don't use a SSL connection.

People can order it and they get the product in their account but the link to the product is not clickable! Why?

Can people explain the download process better than me. The help is dire and I have found no support elsewhere. Should I put the file in the download file? Can I sort my downloads out in subfolders in this folder? What goes in the filename box in product attributes at the moment I have the url path to my file.

Anything to help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You have to have the file in the folder before it will become a link.
