I want to protect my admin panal with password how can I do it? Is there any possibility to do that? :-"

through your hosting panel you can protect directories - that's the best way to do this

hi,

i'm also looking for that answer~

anyone know a easier way??

and if i were to protect the file at my hosting plan??

how do i do it???

i'm using godaddy.com,

anyone can help here??

Sorry I don't know anything about godaddy as a host. Contact them and they should tell you the best course of action.

As for general guidelines to secure the admin here is my 2 cents:

Easiest way is to do this though your webhosting control panel.

Look for an option to password protect directories. Then assign a user and password to the catolog/admin folder.

If you can not figure out how to do this contact your host.

The other way to do this is via .htaccess

An htaccess file will refer to a htpasswd file that has the encrypted password.

If you have no experience using these types of files google them there are tons of resource on the net about this stuff.

Backup before making changes. Backup before making changes! Backup before making changes!!

You did do a backup? eh?

Reinholds,

Your problem is godaddy, You can not password protect files through their control panel and you can not use their htaccess to protect it either. I know, I have them for my first shop hosting............ I have the others hosted elsewhere.

You will have to use the contribution found under community from the above nav.

Look for Secure Admin Login-Logout_1_3
