From mysite.com/index.php to mysite.com/shop/catalog/index.php

I want my customers to type in http://mydomain.com instead of mydomain.com/shop/catalog/index.php.

I assume that I copy everything in /catalog to the root.

What files should I change and how?

The root folder has an index.html from my domain provider. How can I get it switched to index.php?

You need to alter the includes/configure.php file once you have copied all the files to your root directory to reflect the new location of the files. The index.html file your host has put in your root folder can be deleted if you no longer require it or just rename it something like old_host_index.html if you want to keep it.

You do not need the index.html file once you move you site to the root.

You need to update two files.

includes/configure.php

admin/includes/configure.php

There are many posts on this topic if you need more details on how to do this.

For better results when searching the forums read this.
