Products Attributes 3000 and more!

I'm selling in my shop contact lenses and for this I had to add for every product lots and lots of Products Attributes. At the moment there are more than 3000 Products Attributes are set so far.

 

Is there any possibility to search for a product within the attributes. I have to do a change of one of the attributes and if I can't search for the product I have to click true to this 3000 attributes, which getting daily more and more.

 

Any Idea?

This is not the most fun in the world - this is just attribute :-)

 

We have exactly the same problem! So when I get a chance I will do a little hack to address it.

 

Unless anyone else has already done so of course?

could you explain a bit on what you are wanting to do? is this for in the admin area?

I'd like to do the same thing - when we go into admin product attributes (on os2.2 ms2) it just shows 100's of page numbers, and u have to guess where 'S' products might be in the list, then narrow it down to 'So...' etc

 

an easy solution would be surely

 

[A] [C]........[Z] as the links THEN we could page thru the 's for example

 

or a search for a particular one

 

ALSO

 

when copying a product to a DUPLICATE is there any enhancements/onrtibutions that COPY the attributes also, then its up to the user to remove any of the copied attributes from the DUPLICATED product

 

e.g. 2 pair of glasses - same descriptions etc and same attributes, except tht the new copy has less sizes, but a quick fix would be to be able to copy one set of attribs to the oither, THEN edit out the unneeded ones from the new prod?

Yes It would be real nice if the Products Attributes would copy over... this would save many hours !!

We had the same problem for a shop we did the client, he has over 8000 products and over 1000 of them have 4 different attributes with over 150 options for each product ..it was taking them for ever 9 months to do 2800 products to be exact...lol

 

my programmers did a hack to the site and reprogrammed it so we now have the ability to copy all attributes from one product to another.

 

The only problem is the programmer that did it for me doesnt work for me any more so iam sorry that i cant give you guys the code.

 

I will try and see if i can dig out any notes.

There are several contributions that will do this. The main one that comes to mind is the Attributes Sorter/Copier.
