Urgent Help Please

Hello Everyone,

On the index page I have created my own table that replaces the new products table. In each cell I list the products name, the price of the product and a picture. However this all needs to be manually updated and is not linked with the rest of the webpage. Could someone please help me do this:

I would like to make it that I can choose which product goes in which cell which I can already do BUT I want it so that when I choose the product it automatically places the picture, price and description for that product in that cell.

Thank You

So when you did your own thang, did you keep the sql queries and PRODUCT_PRICE, etc.? If you ripped all that out and manually put in your prices, etc., of course when the language is changed the price will not change. If you've hardcoded the price, it will not be touched. In essence, you've defeated what osCommerce is designed to do when the language is changed. So... this is the first thing you need to repair.

Have a URL to show?

Let me clarify what I've done and what I'm trying to achieve.

In the beginning there was the New Products for December box. I commented this out.

Then in languages/english/index.php I put the following code:

define('TEXT_MAIN', '<p align="justify"><b><font color="#FF0000">Welcome <span class="greetUser">Guest!</span> Welcome to the Global X website and online catalog.</p><p align="justify">If you are a member <a href="%s"><u>click here</u></a> to log yourself in?<br>Or would you prefer to <a href="%s"><u>create an account</u></a>?</span></p><p align="justify">Feel free to examine our wide collection of products through the categories on the left hand side or if you would prefer you can use the search function also on the left. Our top products are listed below for your onvenience.</b></font></p>

<style type="text/css">

<!--

.style1 {

font-size: 30px;

font-weight: bold;

color: #FF0000;

}

.style2 {font-size: 12px}

.style3 {font-size: 10px}

-->

</style>

<table width="98%" border="1" align="center" bordercolor="#000000">

<tr bgcolor="#000000">

<td colspan="3"><div align="center" class="style1">!!!Best Sellers!!!</div></td>

</tr>

<tr bordercolor="#FFFFFF">

<td width="33%"><div align="center">

<p class="style2">Top Product Number 1 <br>

Cost of Product Number 1

<br>

<img src="http://www.global-x.com.au/catalog/images/beachball.jpg" width="80" height="80"><br>

<span class="style3">Description</span> </p>

</div></td>

<td width="33%"><div align="center"><span class="style2">Top Product Number 2 <br>

</tr>

<tr bordercolor="#FFFFFF">

<td><div align="center"><span class="style2">Top Product Number 6 <br>

<span class="style3">Description</span> </span></div></td>

</tr>

<tr bordercolor="#FFFFFF">

<td><div align="center"><span class="style2">Top Product Number 7 <br>

<td><div align="center"><span class="style2">Top Product Number 9 <br>

<img src="http://www.global-x.com.au/catalog/images/beachball.jpg" width="80" height="80"><br>

<span class="style3">Description</span> </span></div></td>

</tr>

</table>');

Seems as if this is wrong? If there is a way to edit the new products for december section would that be easier/better? What should I do?

How do I edit it so that I can add a description under each box and also make it so I pick which products are shown rather than it picking the new products.

It is as I said: If you are going to manually include these products and defeat what osCommerce does so nicely, then you will not get your desired result.

How about in your catalog/index.php you

<?php include(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'best_sellers.php'); ?>

in place of

<?php include(DIR_WS_MODULES . FILENAME_NEW_PRODUCTS); ?>

?
