sinful Posted September 24, 2002 Posted September 24, 2002 Hello, i have posted this question, i hope i am not exploiting any rules, please remove this if i am... what i am looking for is to tweak oscommerce in such a way, i want to have lets say 10 products on my main page, but i want only the latest product to show with an image, a brief description, title and price, where as i want the rest ( remaining 9) to show as only a text link, displayed as such, first the date added, then the title, which will link to the product, i want the first product to be shown above all and the rest to show underneath, any help is highly appreciated, am getting abit desperate and frustrated, i dont know as well if i am allowed to suggest this, but if this and a couple of other things work i may be able to submit a contribution which would tweak Oscommerce into becomming a sort of a portal, since till now it is the best piece of work i have seen on the net, i chose to tweak it rather than get something else, Cheers guys. Ajeh Posted September 25, 2002 Posted September 25, 2002 This can be done by modifying the current display to display by date of last added and the first one is done with the image and the remainders are just displayed as links. You can do this with a counter or take the first line of the array and do the Image display then run the rest through a while or for loop starting with the 2nd item in the list and do the text links. It would make a nice contribution. You could also add this with a randomizer so that one product of the list gets 'featured' with the image and the rest are text links but this can vary so it's not always the same product of the ten being 'featured'.
