Andrew Yuen Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 A very professional layout. Only 2 suggest, the logo does not look very professional. I suggest using random image script to change the main pic around randomly. Andrew Yuen osCommerce, Community Team

chooch Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 which template did you use as the basis for the site? the tell tale sign is always in the '0 items' in basket message in the header. you have obviously improvised and worked on the column left and background - it looks good. good luck Upon receiving fixes and advice, too many people don't bother to post updates informing the forum of how it went. Until of course they need help again on other issues and they come running back! Why receive the information you require in good faith for free, only to then have the attitude to ignore the people who gave it to you? There's no harm in saying, 'Thanks, it worked'. On the contrary, it creates a better atmosphere. CHOOCH

I have added contributions like paypal IPN and supertracker which is all working well. Also SSL to the site. I am trying to market the site and it seems to be taking quite a while to get listed. The site has been running for 3 months and I have no orders yet. I guess i need to get lots of links. Adrian....
Victor Wise Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Hi, I have an off topic question. Do you sell motorcycle backrests? A while back I was doing market research for something else, and I noticed that a huge ammount of people are searching for motorcycle backrests online. Looking at the competition, I would say there is an opportunity here. Best Regards, Victor Wise

squalid Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 have you tried a froogle/google base upload ?
adrian.pearce Posted February 6, 2007 Author Posted February 6, 2007 have you tried a froogle/google base upload ? Sorry, what does this mean. I have submitted a sitemap.xml file to google and have some inbound links to the site. Also sell on ebay some products, but still no sales with joomla.
MrsZippy Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 To get the sales you need to get the visitors into your site (stating the obvious i know but bear with me) I'm in the process of building a shop for car spares and we're starting by pushing a product that most people know. Get yourself a few of the top Bike mags and make a note of the email adresses of the editors and features contacts. Bombard them with emails asking for a mention, tell them who you are and what you can offer. Your not looking for a full page spread or an advert as such but just a small mention in a column as a new business venture. Don't bombard them daily but just once a week or fortnight should do. eventually they will get the message. It worked for us and it got the visitors coming thro to our forum while the shop is in progress. If you can find a product that will give you a particular niche in the marketplace you stand a good chance of getting a better feature/ad in a mag. And it will cost you little more than a few emails. And don't be fooled into giving away freebies for the mag editors to try. They hardly ever get anything for nothing. Also, sign up to some bike forums, if you haven't already. Some sites can be fickle and not allow you to advertise unless you are an authorized trader but have a word with the administrators on there and if you can offer special deals to their members they will look upon you favourably. You may need to make yourself a regular name on the sites but if its promoting your shop this shouldnt be too much hardship. I'm only suggesting to you what we have tried and tested and found it to be working. We have joined forces with a nationwide Ford club and they are now advertising for us in their bi-monthly magazine which gets sent out to members. Good luck to you & nice site btw :) Smile: A curve that can make a million things straight
